Sunset on the Beach, Lido Key Florida

Lido Key Sarasota Sunset
Lido Key Sarasota Sunset

Lido Key Beach Sunset. I snapped this shot and several others at Lido South Park in Sarasota Florida. If you enjoy the beach this park is worth the visit. A great place for photography or just for relaxing and or swimming. There are picnic benches  and restrooms and if I remember correctly bar B Q grills also.

If you enjoy nature there is a trail through the natural habitat of the mangroves that has a boardwalk. Lots of different kinds of native plants to see and enjoy. This park is so cool because it has a beach on both sides. The bay side is calm and well shaded by tall Australian pine trees. Also referred to Bahamians as cassarina trees. On the bay side, I’ve seen dolphins swimming! Of course, there are birds and squirrels too and I’ve also seen raccoons.

The other side is the gulf side where I took the photo. There are trails that lead out to the beach and you walk over the sand dunes by plants like sea oats and railroad vine to get to the water. A beautiful beach but not fully accessible if you have to use a wheelchair, but if you can walk then you’ll be fine:)

If I lived in Sarasota I would certainly be a regular visitor to Lido Key and this park.

There are also lots of big seagrape trees at this park and if you go the right time of year the seagrapes are ripe (purple) and you can eat them. I enjoyed them when I was a kid but not sure if I still have a taste for them.

Thank you for viewing my photography, if you would like to purchase a print of this or any other of my photos please feel free to contact me for more information.
