Queen butterfly on milkweed

Queen butterflies can be seen in Florida through most of the year. This butterfly lays it’s eggs on the milkweed plant. The eggs turn into caterpillars which eat the leaves of the milkweed plant and then cocoon until they turn into a queen butterfly like the one in the picture.

If you have milkweed plants in your yard chances are you will see queen butterflies.
